Snapshots and snippets of the beautiful, crazy world right out our front door.

Bit by bit, Autumn passes, and as the leaves fall, and the sun spends fewer and fewer hours in the sky, we have said goodbye to certain aspects of our carefree summer outdoor living. Our tent, which was our bedroom from late August through October, has now been replaced by a real live (although unfinished) bedroom nook in the house.
And the house feels more and more like home, jack o’lanterns on the front stoop, and all.
Without electricity or much furniture, we make do with the same small table that was handed down to us over 14 years ago, a few chairs, a good fire, and a few tea lights.
And the kids learn the fun of playing with melting wax.
Enjoying the last days of fall foliage with walks in the woods.
Finding creatures in their winter hideouts – this salamander was quite happy deep in a garden bed, until I accidentally unearthed him or her!
What is taking place this Autumn out your front door?

The photos are absolutely gorgeous – especially the last one with the salamander.
To live your life, I think you are brave. Sometimes I daydream about it – especially when I’m sitting in traffic or pulling another 12 hour day. I know I would love the lifestyle. I know I would sink into it and love it. Oh, well! I will learn to love what I do have!
That wood stove is fabulous, by the way.

Thank you. Sounds like you are very grateful for what you have, while identifying some dreams. Nothing wrong with that! Keep dreaming!
